Download and Installation Instructions

1.      Click on the link that says “DOWNLOAD” 

2.      You will be asked to save the file “challenge.zip” to your hard drive. If you are doing this from the CD on a Mac, then you may be alerted that the volume you want to save to is “locked”. Simply dismiss this message and in the next popup window, select a location on your hard drive to save the file. 

3.      Use Expander (on a mac) or Winzip (on windows) to uncompress the software package you just saved to your hard drive. 

4.      Once the software has been expanded you will see a folder called “Challenges”. Open this folder. 

5.      You will now see three folders: Cryptography, Estimation, and Population. The following steps can be applied to any of the three folders. 

6.      Open the Cryptography folder. Double click the “Launch Cryptography Challenge.html” file or drag it into a web browser to launch the downloaded software challenge. 

7.      You are now running the challenge. Click the Starter, Super, and Mega image links at the bottom of the page to explore the different applications embedded in the challenge. 

8.      You can repeat steps 6 and 7 for the Estimation and Population folders.
