estimation

ACTIVITY

The needle on your speedometer is somewhere between 50 and 60. Can you estimate accurately what your speed is? That is an example of estimating a number from a scale. The NetAdventure Estimator Simulation gives you practice at this kind of estimation. Try the game and post your scores that you had at each of the eight levels. Each level gets progressively more challenging! Say something about what you had to think about to determine the location of the fruit.

    Clue 1

This game keeps getting harder as you get better. This version is of natural numbers, positive integers. First giving you scales that start with zero and end with 10 or some other smaller number. But once you can estimate those, it gives you scales that don't start with zero, have big numbers, and then negative numbers.

    Clue 2

Since the simulation is set to place the fruit randomnly, try the levels again to see if you can improve your score. Was it easier the second time around? Why?

    Technical Tip

NetAdventure Super EnDec Simulation will take some time to load in your web browser.
    Please be patient.
