Photograph public domain courtesy of NASA/JPL. SpaceQuest is designed as a student-intiated simulation that occurs during a week-long space camp for students of all ages. Students experience basic training and investigations that help them develop expertise in a wide range of speciality areas. This technical and concept knowledge is fundamental to the students developing their roles more completely and responsibly. Following the initial basic training and investigations, students select their choice of a speciality area. The students spend a day designing and performing investigations of their choice based on their speciality area. On the last day of the camp, all of the students participate a day-long simulation that takes place in inflatable domes as part of a lunar or Mars base. Join the team by trying some sample introductory student investigations for a speciality areas! Each student investigation also has accompanying teacher notes that include additional background materials, demonstration notes, time lines, and answers. |
